Alice Springs, The Town
In the heart of Central Australia, between the East and West MacDonnell Ranges, sits Australia's most famous outback town Alice Springs. It's a thriving, spirited outback centre - as famous for the personality of its locals as the natural wonders that surround it. The history and heritage of Alice Springs overflowing with a rich cast of characters - in the late 1800's and early 1900's only the most intrepid pioneers braved its rugged environment. From Afghan cameleers to flying doctors, today it is possible to pay homage to their legacy at various historic sites around the town.




Uluru/Ayers Rock & Kata Tjuta/The Olgas
No matter how many pictures you have seen, nothing will prepare you for your first view of Uluru/Ayers Rock. Even from a distance, across the rich red plains, the power of its ancient spirit will overwhelm you. Once you stand at its base, touch it and explore its mysteries, you will understand why it is not only a treasured icon to local Aboriginal people, but also one of the great wonders of the world. Uluru/Ayers Rock is located in the World Heritage listed Uluru/Kata Tjuta National Park. The rock rises 1140 feet from the desert and has a girth of nearly 6 miles. At sunset Uluru/Ayers Rock puts on a light show that changes its colors from red to orange to lilac in a matter of minutes. Kata Tjuta/The Olgas will also intrigue you as you explore its giant domes, weathered through millions of years.

What better way to see some of the most rugged and spectacular scenery in Central Australia. Your morning begins before dawn when the wind is gentle and a new day is about to begin.
