The Walking Trails of Tasmania
Visitors to Tasmania are often drawn to the wonderful guided walking tours that are available. Here we feature four of the best, all of a high standard, professionally organized and accessing some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Australia. From the calm and secluded East Coast, to the mountainous regions of Cradle Mountain, to the remote Maria Island, these are walks that will appeal to those who love the beauty of the outdoors.
Choose from the following
The Bay of Fires Walk
This 4 day walk and the Cradle Mountain Hut Walk are considered to be two of the finest walks in Tasmania and quite possibly all of Australia. The magnificent wilderness coastline known as the Bay of Fires invites you to experience its dramatic landscape, ecology and wildlife. Led by well-informed, young Tasmanian guides, small groups can explore both the fascinating beach environment and the rich diversity of the nearby woodlands. And at the Bay of Fires Lodge, the only building in this near-unknown wilderness paradise, both solitude and comfort are guaranteed.

Cradle Mountain Huts & The Overland Track - 6 Days
This is one of the most famous walks in all of Australia. Join a spectacular guided walk along the Overland Track which meanders for 37 miles through the heart of Tasmania's Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. Experience the beauty of the mountains, lakes, streams and waterfalls before arriving at the shores of Lake St Clair. At the end of each day you can relax in the private huts nestled among Tasmania flora, offering privacy and expansive views. A moderate level of fitness is required. Included in the cost is transport, 5 nights twin share accommodation, National Park entrance fees, all meals, boat cruise on Lake St Clair, guides, use of backpack & gortex jacket.

Maria Island Walk - 4 Days
Enjoy this gentle journey through the magnificent Maria Island National Park with plenty of chances to relax between walks. Explore convict settlements, walk in the world's largest Tasmanian blue gum forest and stroll along magnificent beaches. This island sanctuary is also home to amazing wildlife with its prolific bird life and mammals. Stay in beachfront camps and indulge in a final night banquet at the heritage listed Bernacchi House. Moderate fitness levels are required. Inclusions: all transport, 3 nights twin share accommodation, National Park entrance fees, all meals, Tasmanian wine, use of backpack, sleeping bag, waterproof jacket and guides.

The Tasmanian Peninsula Walk - 5 Days
The Tasman Coastal trail is one of Tasmania's great walks and follows the spectacular 1000 foot dolerite cliffs along the coastline from Tasman Arch to Fortescue Bay and then makes it's way out to Cape Pillar. On the way you will see seals, penguins, dolphins and at some times of the year whales as well. A moderate level of fitness is required. Inclusions: Professional guide, 2 person tents, meals, sleeping bag, rucksack, and protective clothing.
