Travel North to The Coral Coast

Travel North to The Coral Coast

The main feature of this region is Shark Bay World Heritage Area and the dolphins at Monkey Mia. At Ningaloo Reef you can swim with the world's largest fish - the Whale Shark. It's a 500 mile drive from Perth to Monkey Mia and a further 300 miles on to Exmouth with fascinating places to visit along the way - a region for those who enjoy long distance travel, adventure and the experience of visiting one of the most remote and beautiful regions in Australia.

Interaction with Monkey Mia dolphins

Famous for the friendly dolphins found at Monkey Mia within Shark Bay, this region is a wonder of the natural world, well known for its white beaches, turquoise waters and rust-red sand dunes. Shark Bay is renowned for its marine life, on any visit you're likely to spot humpback and southern right whales, dugongs, turtles, dolphins and manta rays. It became Western Australia's first World Heritage listed area in 1991 and is now one of only a handful of places across the globe to satisfy all four criteria for World Heritage listing.

Ningaloo Reef and Marine Park at Exmouth

Ningaloo Reef is unique because it's the world's largest fringing reef which means it can be reached just by stepping offshore. It extends 11 miles seaward and encompasses nearly 2,000 square miles of ocean. The shallow lagoons formed by the reef, and the deeper offshore waters create a diverse array of habitats for a multitude of colourful corals and more than 500 species of fish. There are whale sharks, turtles, dugongs, dolphins and humpback whales. The Park provides an excellent opportunity to fish (outside sanctuary zones), swim, snorkel, dive, observe marine life and relax on the beach.
